  • Thailand Export Mart

Thailand Export Mart (TEM) is the first of its kind in Thailand and the latest in Southeast Asia to play a significant role in developing one of the region's most complete export trade center.  The center acts as a meeting platform for exporters and international buyers to fulfill their needs.

  • Thailand's Brand

The sustainability of export growth and popularity of the export products from Thailand demands increased consumer awareness and recognition of the individual brand names.  The Department of Export Promotion, in cooperation with the public and private sectors, has encouraged Thai manufacturers and exporters to realize the importance of promoting their products under their own brand names in the international markets.  The objective behind the creation of Thailand's Brand is to enhance Thailand's image as an efficient and effective producer and exporter of a wide diversity of quality goods and services.  It is envisaged that the brand names will add value to Thai products and give Thailand a competitive edge on a sustainable basis.

  • The Product Development Center

The Product Development Center was established in May 1990 (by the Thai Government) under the Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce.  It was set up to be a center for product development for exportation along with an effort to support and encourage Thai manufacturers / exporters to produce new and innovative products through the use of design as a creative medium, rather than reproducing or copying foreign products that are already on the market.

  • Programs to Promote Exports to New Markets

To broaden Thailand's export market, the DEP has provided support to private firms that wish to travel to negotiate trade deals and participate in trade fairs in new markets, numbering 141 countries in all.   These new markets include Indochina, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, South Asia, Eastern Asia, and the Pacific Islands.  The period of support for this project is 1999-2003. By the end of 2000, exports to new markets had increased to 30.2 percent of Thailand's total export volume.  In support of this, the DEP has been encouraging two types of trade promotional activities-, namely, participation in overseas trade exhibitions and Thai trade delegations traveling abroad.  As a result, Thai exporters have taken part in 431 overseas trade events and 170 trade delegations.  These efforts have been most successful in opening up the markets in the Middle East and Indochina.
