SET has set out its mission in Vision 2003, a statement of the Exchange's goals and direction for 1999 - 2003.

Vision 2003

To be one of the most attractive capital markets in Asia by providing quality products, representing the Thai economy truthfully, having effective risk management tools, and complying with international standards of enforcement and corporate governance.

To achieve the "Vision", the SET will focus on improvements in terms of quality, rather than by competing directly with other exchanges in terms of size or quantity. It plans to become a fully integrated market, offering a wide variety of high quality financial products with effective risk management tools. Listed companies at the Exchange must present themselves so as to truly reflect the Thai economy. In addition, the SET aims to implement international standards of enforcement and corporate governance to ensure the quality of its products and provide effective investor protection.
