The progress of social development in Thailand has been improving steadily in all areas, mostly as a result of poverty reduction programs. The Thai government's social development goals are:
- To provide higher standards of living, full employment, and conditions conducive to economic and social progress and development.
- To provide solutions to social, health, and related problems, as well as to promote international cultural and educational cooperation.
- To observe human rights and fundamental freedom for all without any distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.
