Thai shares closed 1.4 per cent higher on Thursday, tracking the strong gain in Wall Street and the regional stock markets.

The SET index ended at 845.19 with a thin trading volume of Bt19.44 billion.

 Among the most active stocks, PTT Plc (PTT) surged 2.81 per cent at Bt366, TPI Polene Plc (TPIPL) lost 9.19 per cent at Bt8.40, PTT Exploration and Production Plc (PTTEP) went up 1.94 per cent at Bt158, Thai Oil Plc (TOP) was up 2.99 per cent at Bt86 and Siam Commercial bank (SCB) rose 1.83 per cent at Bt83.50.
